It is available in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area and the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council area.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Features of the Service:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Daily Check-in Calls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our dedicated team of volunteers make scheduled phone calls to individuals, typically in the morning, to ensure they are safe and well. The calls can be tailored to suit the needs of the individual and are meant to provide reassurance and a friendly voice to keep them connected and provide social contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Support for Vulnerable Individuals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This service is aimed at older people and older carers, those living alone, or individuals with health conditions who may benefit from regular social contact. It is particularly beneficial for people who feel isolated or vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Referrals to Other Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team can provide information or refer individuals to additional community, health, or social services if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Access the Service:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Referrals can be made by individuals themselves, family members, carers, or health and social care professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Registration is straightforward and involves providing basic contact information and emergency details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative enhances community well-being, reduces loneliness, and offers peace of mind to both service users and their loved ones. Users choose their schedule, time, and the volunteers check in with them to see how their day is going.
