The Confederation of Community Groups, is an umbrella organisation for voluntary and community groups in the Newry, Mourne and Down area. It offers advice, practical support, services and training through a number of projects and services. Its work is funded by the District Council, Government Departments as well as a variety of independent bodies and is managed by a voluntary Management Committee drawn from its Community and Voluntary Group membership. Situated in Newry City Centre, Ballybot House was Northern Ireland’s first purpose built multi-purpose Community Resource Centre and, together with our An Stóras building, it now comprises 30,000 square feet of office, retail and conference facilities.
Owned and managed by the Confederation of Community Groups, it is the Confederation’s Headquarters and also home to approximately 20 voluntary and community sector tenants who have self-contained offices within Ballybot House and An Stóras. We offer a wide range of resource services, with special discount for groups that are affiliated with the Confederation of Community Groups, and we are open to all members of the public.
Our printing services are competitively priced, whilst maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and quality. We have a number of rooms in both buildings available for hourly rent, at very competitive rates. We provide free wifi, use of equipment such as a flipchart, screen and projector.
