Invitation to apply for the 2022/23 Homeless Prevention Fund

Dear all,

Due to the on-going success of the Homeless Prevention Fund, NIHE have secured finance to run the Fund again this year as we continue to implement the Homelessness Strategy 2022-2027. As with 2021/22, we are hoping to have a mix of renewed projects from last year as well as a range of new projects.

Applications are invited from constituted groups in receipt of homelessness funding, Supporting People funding, social enterprise funding, or constituted groups working with key homeless client groups with endorsement from local NIHE Area Manager.

We have sought to publicise this funding via a range of different channels (Homelessness Local Area Groups, Supporting People funded providers, homelessness funded groups and we have asked for this to be referenced in the Supporting Communities e-zine) but please forward details to any organisations within your areas who may have an interest in applying for this funding.

In line with our Reset Plan (The Way Home) the priority areas that we have identified for this year’s Prevention fund to focus on include;

  • Youth homeless including former care leavers;
  • Victims of domestic abuse;
  • Those experiencing or impacted by addictions;
  • Those with mental ill-health;
  • Those at risk of losing private rented sector accommodation.

Please note that whilst these areas are not essential criteria, as we will consider all applications, those addressing the above areas are particularly sought.

Please find the attached application form which includes a covering note describing the different service models including guidance notes for each section of the form which is located at the end of the document.

No maximum funding limit will apply to applications for this years Homelessness Prevention Fund, but should reflect deliverable objectives within the 5 month funding term.

Please be advised that funding awarded will be non-recurrent and will have to be spent by the 31st March 2023.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 5PM ON FRIDAY, 23rd SEPTEMBER 2022, which will ideally allow for notification of approval in mid October, and facilitate commencement of projects on 1st November 2022.
