Micro-grants:

As Centre for Ageing Better did last year, one way they want to support Age-friendly Communities to get involved in the Age Without Limits Day is by making micro-grants available to community groups and local voluntary sector organisations, big or small, based within Age-friendly Communities.

Grants of up to £500 are available, with an additional £150 to cover anything needed to make the event or activity more accessible. All events and activities will need to respond to the theme “Celebrate Ageing. Challenge Ageism”, which thye want applicants to interpret in their own way. For inspiration of events and activities applicants could host please read and share this blog and case studies from the March 2024 Age Without Limits Day.

To apply, organsations or groups must fill in the application form and email it to [email protected] by 5pm on 10th February 2025. Attached to this email is the application form, as well as an Information Document which we strongly advise all applicants to read before applying. These documents can also be found on the Age Without Limits website.

Sharing with your network:

The pilot micro-grant programme earlier this year would not have been a success if it wasn’t for the help of the whole network. For this year to be even more impactful, we need you, Age-friendly leads, to share this opportunity within your networks.

Please find attached to this email a guide that provides more context for Age-friendly leads, information on how you might choose to support groups in your area, and template newsletter text.

For any questions you can contact [email protected] or attend one of our online information sessions on Thursday 16th January 2pm-3pm or Tuesday 21st January 12pm-1pm. To register for one of these sessions please visit our webpage here.
