Programme Supporting Economically Inactive People Get Into Self Employment or Start A Business Recruiting Now

Are you an organisation working with economically inactive people in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area? Would you like to offer your service users or community an alternative pathway into employment? The Go Succeed: Get Started in Business Programme might be right for your service users, clients, or community.

Starting a business or becoming self-employed can be a major step for anyone, particularly for those who have been out of the workforce for some time. Across Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area, a series of events have been announced to help people explore whether self-employment could be a realistic option for them:-

  • Wednesday 5th November from 2pm to 3pm at Crossmaglen Community Centre

These sessions are aimed at economically inactive people. People who aren’t currently working and who don’t get work-related benefits like Job Seekers, Working Tax Credits etc… For example long term sick/disabled, retirees, carers, students, home-makers….

In this session we will help participants:

✅Learn how to start your self-employment journey

✅Find out what practical things you need to know about registering a business

✅Discover what support is out there to help you start a business

✅Learn what costs may be involved in starting your business

✅Begin the process of bringing your idea to life or learn how to identify the kind of business you want

✅Hear from an entrepreneur who will answer your questions and give you an honest account of their journey into business

It doesn’t matter if they don’t have an idea they want to explore or they just like the sound of thinking about how they could take control of their own future, please invite them to come along and meet like-minded people in a relaxed, casual and informal setting.

We’ll also be telling people more about the Go Succeed: Get Started In Business Programme and how they can attend a business start-up workshop as well as get the opportunity to apply for up to 10 hours mentoring and a financial assistant package.
