Newry Mourne Down District Council Core Funding Programme

CCG has been providing community development support to local groups for more than 50 years. We have worked in partnership with NMDDC from the outset and we are delighted to say we continue to do so.

NMDDC recognise the contribution we make to our local communities and provide core funding via a Service Level Agreement. They are now our longest funding provider and help us to support and facilitate active citizenship by:

  • building the capacity of the communities in Newry, Mourne & Down to assess community need and to develop collective solutions to address local issues.
  • promoting and providing opportunities to tackle inequalities in health and other statutory services.
  • supporting the com/vol sector to recognise the value of adopting a community development approach in all their activities.
  • planning and delivering projects that lead to more collaborative working

  • advocating with the sector on behalf of communities
  • influencing the policies of community, voluntary, government and statutory agencies
  • working with the sector to address emerging needs
  • managing and maintaining Ballybot House & An Stóras as our social enterprise.
  • Advice, support and training in Good Governance, Fundraising, Action-Planning, Good Relations, Community Development, Citizenship.
  • Support com/vol groups to constitute and provide support on the journey to charity registration as an official ‘helper organisation’ for the Northern Ireland Charities Commission
