Welcome and Purpose
We were delighted to host a recent study visit to Lislea Community Centre as part of the cross-border, cross-community Circle of Learning project. We extend our sincere thanks to the Lislea Lively Ladies for their warm welcome on the day.
About the Project
The Circle of Learning project helps groups and hubs build cross-border and cross-community links, while also providing mentoring and training opportunities. It is funded by the Department for Foreign Affairs and managed by Cooperation Ireland. CCG is one of the participating hubs, alongside Castleblayney Blades, Dundalk Youth Centre, and County Armagh Community Development.
Who Took Part
The visit brought together representatives from the Lislea Lively Ladies, The Sanctuary, Green Spaces Community Growing Project, and groups from Castleblayney, Dundalk, and County Armagh.
Highlights of the Day
- Guests were welcomed with tea and coffee, followed by an overview of the work of Lislea Community Association and the Lislea Lively Ladies. We thank Kate Quinn and Aengus Hannaway for sharing their time and knowledge.
- An interactive session led by Streetwise Community Circus encouraged participation, teamwork, and plenty of laughter, while giving everyone the chance to learn new skills.
- Lunch, provided by Boyds Kitchen on the Go, gave everyone the opportunity to network, connect, and learn more about the different groups and communities represented.
- The afternoon concluded with a team-building session at the community shed and playpark, rounding off a memorable day in beautiful surroundings.
